Climb aboard it's Cast Off time!

Today was a big day in our household. Justice had his appointment to remove his cast.  Yay!!!! We all were so excited. Justice wanted freedom for his arm. And, David and I were happy to get the thing off because it stunk something fierce! We think he peed on his cast. And, off course it is filled with cotton so it just soaked it all up for our smelling enjoyment during the 2 weeks he had his "real" cast on. As you can see he is a little nervous about it though. He is afraid that the doctor will hurt his arm. But he waited as patiently as he could.

This is the tool, actually it was a saw that only cut through the fiber glass cast. It was very loud and quite scary to Justice. I just held on to him trying to reassure him. But, the obsessed blogger that I am, I had to take pictures in the chaos.

Once all that was done, the cast had to be cracked open. ....Not fun, but better than the saw. As you can see, no tears over this part.

X-ray time. He had to have 3 x-ray pictures. This part hurt him because his arm was so stiff from being held in the same position for a month.

When will it ever end Mommy?
He had such a sad face. But, I always love the pouty lips and sad puppy dog eyes.

He is looking at the scary man who was about to mess with his arm again. (He was actually a really nice man, but ya know....)

The pins.

They are about 4 inches long. They had to be pulled out with pliers - twisting and turning and lots of force.

It is all done. And, he should have been happy. But, he hated the color of the bandage. "I don't want pink, Mommy!" He cried over and over. Such a boy! How can anyone call him a girl?!

Aww, what a good boy. Jackson is looking at this me and thought they were cutting off Justice's arm. So scary for little people. Hardy to convince them that it's not that bad when someone with a loud sawing thing is cutting into your "boo boo" and then yanks long pins out. The trials and tribulations of being a mother ;-)
