David is Da Bomb!

I am so proud of David. He fixed our brakes today!!! He did have help from our friend down the street, but he wanted me to know that he did a lot of the work also. That part had to be the ego... lol
Anyway, he turned a $1000 job at the mechanic into a 5 hour and $150 job. Gotta love that.
He felt so manly that he topped his day off watching not 1, but 2 UFC matches with the guys!
I was more than happy to oblige. I rented a chick flick and settled in....
Besides, last night I had the most fun playing hair and make-up with "the girls."

Update

I have really not been into blogging lately since my camera was stolen. Sorry.
But, a lot has happened lately. So guess I can fill ya in....
I have been without a car now for a while. I am not sure how much longer that will be the case. It sucks. The brake system is shot. We discovered this while we were out driving the town running errands and couldn't stop. It was a bit unnerving. But, we were able to coast home unscathed. My geriatric mobile now sits at the curb. Does anyone know how much longer a 250 thousand mile driven suburban can last?
We also got the remainder of our baby chicks yesterday. They are soooo cute. I got a frantic call from the post office telling me to come get them immediately. Well, I did not have a car so i told them I could get them later when my husband got home from work. They said, "Oh no, you need to come get them now!" I was a bit miffed because it wasn't like the 2 day old chicks were a threat to their lives or anything... Anyway, I thankfully borrowed my friendly neighbor's car (for the 2ND day in a row) to get the chicks.
Just picked out the Rhode island red chick and named it Ramen Noodle. Can you tell what we eat? I love the name though. My chick is a golden laced wyandotte. I named her Huevos. David's chick is a Black Australorp. She is the fluffiest and biggest. He named her Muchacha. But I vetoed that name and named her Lola instead. Tough cookies, Babe. Faith's chick is a black star. She named her Prieta. That means black in Portuguese. So add those to Hope's silky named Stacie and Courage's Auracana named flippy - and we have 6 chickens now. They love to eat our table scraps.
Other news..... Hope and I about cut off our fingers. She cut hers on Saturday trying to open a freeze pop. i got on her, but not angrily, about how she shouldn't use knives. WE need to be careful when using knives and she wasn't a big enough girl yet to use one. Well, yesterday i was trying to cut a bagel down the middle and sliced my finger with the full length of the blade. When it was all said and done I could see bone. I called David because i didn't have a car and told him I needed a ride to the ER for stitches. He was just beginning a surgery - all scrubbed and prepped and had to leave to come home. But, after he looked at it, he decided that it didn't really need stitches because the cut was so clean and straight. I, however, still think it needs stitches. It is a huge cut. And, it hurts. David was glad to be home anyway. he was out all night the past couple of nights delivering babies and doing surgeries. So he took advantage of the time and napped.
OK... what else...?
I got released from my 2 year calling at church as the 1st counselor in the Primary. I am now the 12-13 yr old Sunday school teacher. I started a new term in school. I am taking Nutritional Analysis and Software Applications. I already forgot to take my 1st quiz. Genius!
David got presented with a job in Minot, ND. That is 30 min. from the Canadian border. But, it is a pretty sweet deal. Residency stipend... Student Loan repayment.... Insane starting salary... Incredible sign on bonus... relocation.... free malpractice insurance. And, it is the #7Th best place to live in the USA, ranked as one of the most safe places to live, the schools are ranked as some of the best in the nation, ranked #6 best place to raise a family, almost 20% less than the national average in cost of living. They offered him a ticket to fly down there and interview at his convenience. Really? How can we go wrong with this place? Oh yeah it is freezing. But, for the money they are throwing at us, we figure we can afford really nice and warm coats.
And, I am just trying to deal with the stresses of my life. Some days good, some days not so good.
