Faith is growing up!

Today I got a glimpse into my daughter's teen years...
It was Celebrity Day at Faith's school. She is of course like every other pre-teen and obsessed with Mily Cyrus, Demi Lavado, and Salina Gomez. So she wanted to dress up like one of them... That basically means dress trendy and wear make-up.
So here she is. I don't think she necissarily looks like any of them. But, she does look more grown up. And dancing around the house with her Ipod stuck in her ears just added to it! It is wierd. I suppose I better get use to it...

Pay It Forward....

Ok - My Sister-in-law, Lissa is doing this... I thought it was cute.

"I promise to send the first 3 persons who comment on this post something hand made! Yup, something fabulous and hand-made from little 'ol me! And received before the end of next month. (March 2009) Oh the mystery! What will it be? I don't even know...but you'll love it I'm sure! Here's the catch: If you sign up to receive a hand made gift you need to "pay it forward" on your own blog. That is, you'll make a post similar to this, decide how many gifts and your own deadlines. The gift that you send to your friends can be from any price range. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember it’s the spirit and the thought that counts! You can do this!"

Yes, I copied the words... :P

It's a Positive Thing!

Yes, it is true!!! After over a year of trying... I am pregnant!!! And, no drugs this time. I am going to tell my infertility doc he was wrong about needing in-vitro, too...
No wonder I have been so sick...

I am due Oct 25th. So expect Sept 15th-ish. LOL... Hopefully that really can stay a joke...

Mila's 1st Show

As most of you know I show and breed sphynx cats... Well, Mila, our kitten had her 1st show this weekend. She did awesome! She took Best of Breed by 3 judges and 2nd Best of Breed by 3 judges.
But we were robbed on those 2nd Best of Breeds... And, it was obvious to not only me but the other sphynx exhibitors.
Mila was happy and sweet to everyone there. The judges raved about how amazing she felt and how adorable she was. She was used in mini lessons for the spectators about how a sphynx should look and behave.
Overall it was a great experience. When she becomes an adult I expect her to get her Grand Champion pretty quickly.

Today's Random Thoughts

I am so sick of school. I love learning on my own time. I hate schedules. When am I ever going to get pregnant again? I only want one more. I need to get better about my visiting teaching. I am going to schedule appointments today. I am addicted to the Internet. Why is it so cold? I wish winter was over. I need some Motrin. I hate headaches. I think I might cough up a lung. How do I get my kids to pick up after themselves? I need David to adjust my neck. My kids are eating us out of house and home. Who can I talk to on FB today? I should shower. I can't wait until nap time. Peace and quiet. I need to finish my final for Medical and Bioethics class. It is too cloudy outside. I am looking forward to my movie tonight. I will probably watch American Idol with David, though. I love my new blog layout design. I wish I was in AZ hanging with family. Everyone is working anyway. What's my sister up to? Why does pooping feel so good? I give too much info... I don't really care. I have no secrets. I need a hired handyman to fix my house. David smells so good. I want to go on a date. I deserve it. Cancel my doctor appointment. Where is my paint? Justice wants to paint. I hope he feels better soon. His snot gets caught in his hair. He is so cuddly when he is sick though... I love to cuddle with my kids. My Valentine's roses are so pretty. David is so good to me. I stay up to late. I want to go back to bed.

OUR NEXT DOG

So I have decided on what type of dog we will get next! Drumroll please......Spike.....

The Peruvian Inca Orchid!

But it has a ton of names... Just because I am bored, I will tell you them. Other names are Moonflower Dog...Perro Flora....Perro sin pelo del PerĂº....Peruvian Hairless Dog....Al'co Calato.... and the Inca Hairless Dog. I love that it is Latin!
So anyway... It is a great dog. Besides the fact that it is hairless and looks totally awesome, they have no fleas, ticks, dirt caught in the fur, quick bath and towel dry off then grooming is done, it has absolutely no odor, & it is really really smart!
I am so ready for a smart dog! Charlie loves to eat poop and doesn't train well to do anything. In fact, all of our dogs were that way. Casanova is smart, but he wants to do what HE wants. STUBBORN.
The Peruvian Inca is very happy to please others. They are extremely intelligent and don't need to be corrected, like ever...
They are excellent watch dogs. They are never dog aggressive. They get along with cats.
They are indoor dogs because they can't handle the sun unless they have sunblock on.
So, I thought it would be a lot of fun to get one and make it a therapy dog. How cool would it be to walk around the hospital with a 2+ foot tall hairless dog that is extremely well mannered!!?? VERY COOL! And, I love doing pet therapy work... BONUS!
They are considered a hound. And, they do agility work. So, maybe for fun, I might train it to do that kind of stuff.
AAHHH... I love hairless animals. I think I will be a collector. Did you know there are hairless horses...? HMMM... We'll see.

FACEBOOK!!!

I just joined facebook last night. A friend of mine told me to join so I could look at her pictures... and I did. I did not like it at first. No pretty backgrounds or music like on the blogs... But, I stuck it out and learned how to do it for the most part. In the end, I think it is pretty cool.
I chatted with Lissa for a while. That was fun. And I chatted with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in about 13 years. So cool!
The only problem is that I am going to be seriously addicted. I stayed up until just about 11pm or midnight (time started to run together) on it looking for friends and chatting. And, I have a 10 page paper to write for anatomy 2 about the reproductive system. Oh.. man... I am in trouble.

My Sexy Husband....

David told me this story that happened to him. As he was telling me, I couldn't help but find myself getting all riled up and more attracted to him. He is so awesome!!!

He was on the labor and delivery unit working. During his shift there was a crazy, pregnant woman going into severe pre-clampsia and pulmonary edema. David recognized it and his mad doctor skills took over. He said when he found her, he could hear her lungs starting to gurgle from 2 feet away as she breathed, because she was drowning in her lungs from the pulmonary edema that had developed. And the baby's heart tones were severely dropping.
David immediately upon discovering this told the woman she needed an emergency C-section right away. She, being a crazy lady, refused. So, he told tell her if she didn't she and her baby would die. She still refused, but her mother who was also there was trying to get the woman to consent to no avail...
David was in a difficult position because if her touched her at that point it would be considered battery.
However, her vitals and the baby's were still dropping. Because of that, David decided he could not wait for her to consent anymore. It was now a life or death situation and she needed the emergency surgery or both would die. And, she obviously was not thinking straight.
But, there was no anesthesiologist on the floor - and no superior attending...
Despite that David had to do the surgery anyway. So he took the lady back to the OR immediately and prepped her for surgery. At the last minute an anesthesiologist came in and put the woman to sleep. And, David just began to cut away as fast as he could starting from the woman's belly button down.
When he got the baby out, it was limp and thought to be dead. But the neonatal team quickly began their work and revived the baby. While that was going on, David reached in the woman's uterus to pull out a completely abrupted placenta. He cleaned her out, then the woman went immediately to the ICU after he closed her up. She possibly has pneumonia in addition to her high blood pressure, and pulmonary edema.
David saved both the Mom's and baby's lives just in the nick of time because of his quick thinking and mad surgery skills.
Later the neo-natologist told David, "One more minute and the baby would have died, without a doubt."

I wish I was there!! I am so proud of him.
