Our trip to Erie and Kirtland

David was asked to go do "Hopital Day" in Erie again this year. Since we lived there for 4 years and we haven't seen David much, we decided to make it a famiy trip.
After our three hour drive there, we checked into the hotel. That was kinda bitter sweet because it it always fun staying in a hotel and David's work was paying for it, but it as a water park hotel... Justice can't go swimming. He has ear problems that make it so he can't (or shouldn't) get water in his ears. But, that is another story...
So, we had fun hanging out in Erie. We did all the fun things we use to for 4 years. The highlight was driving around Preque Isle at night and spotlighting the wildlife. We use to do that every Sunday night. It was a family tradition that we created. We do miss it... we counted seeing something like 13 deer, 12 racoons, 13 or 14 skunks, 10 rabbits, and i can't rememeber what else.
We went to the zoo the next day and were excited to see the oragatans had a new baby.
We also went down to the lake and skipped stones. It was really a good time.
Then we did other non-Erie fun stuff, like we saw How to Train a Dragon. LOVED IT! I highly recommend the movie. It was so fun. After that we went to Olive Garden. The best part of it all was that David's work paid!!!
It was a fun weekend stay in Erie.
On the way home we stopped in Kirtland, Ohio. That was nice since we haven't been there since Justice was about 6 months. We snuck in on a tour. the kids were having a hard time being still and quiet listening to the missionaries talk about the historic sites so I gave them my camera and told them to take pictures of the most interesting things that they saw in each building and room. This is what they thought were the coolest things in Kirtland...

1st Thing David did was check out the game in the room. Surprise...

These are cool statues from a local artist. They are all in his front yard and made out of cars. Justice freaked!
Welcome to Kirtland!

The coolest thing was the window... Maybe they wanted to escape...
We did sneak out of the tour just like we snuck in.....

This doll creeps me out. I wonder if kids in the 1800s had nightmares....?
Not sure what this was about.
