SNOW DAY!!!!

Today school was cancelled as we woke up to 8 newly fallen inches of snow this morning.
Are all of you in AZ jealous??? You know you are....
I was so glad because that meant that I got to go back to bed instead of fighting with the kids at 6:30 am to practice their instruments and get ready for school.
We woke up at about 8-8:30. David even took a vacation day to hang with the family today.
We have been dealing with some hard stresses, so today's play day was very welcomed.
We sat around and had a leisure breakfast of pancakes and oatmeal. Then David and the kids stuck away to the family room in the basement to play a few hours of Wii games and watch recorded American Idol episodes.
I spent a while watching the cats get use to each other and making sure Kiki wasn't going to hurt the kitten.
Later, I took a nap with the little ones.
Following that we played out in the snow. It was fun! We hadn't had a relaxed enough day like this in a long time to do that. David and I built Hope and Justice an igloo while they sat around eating snow balls and throwing a few at us. The dogs loved it too. Charlie ran nonstop like a mad dog. Cass just chilled in the snow enjoying his time with the family.
To top it all off, we came in and warmed up with yummy hot cocoa and pizza and salads for dinner. Yum.
What a great day! I love hanging with my family. Nothing brings me greater joy.

YES!!! I'm soooooo jealous! I always thought it was completely unfair that so many states got snow days and we never got one single "hot day" off from school. Seriously! Some days it's just too darn hot to walk to school! =)

Yeah... we get snow days all the time. Last year they totalled about 2 weeks worth. And this week, because of snow, the kids have a 3 day school week. It is really fun. And I love to sleep in til 8 am. I feel like a queen when that happens. lol
Enjoy the heat though!!!! What I wouldn't give to feel it warm on my back.... Last time that happened I was in AZ.
